getting ready

we are getting a large order of carved wooden mustaches ready to send to a shop in s.f. we have been playing with ways to mount the mustaches individually, so shops will have options for displaying them as a group (see here) or solo. these mustaches don't have their sticks added yet, but we screened some heads on poplar planks as a test. when we send them to the shop we will post a link on the blog since we are not selling them in our shop for a while. more information soon.

you never know when you might need a disguise. now, you can have this mustache wherever you go. it's convenient, miniature size makes it portable and the individually hand drawn hairs make it convincingly real - ok, only sort of. but seriously, it's so darn cute. click here to buy.

"the swindler"

ebony stain is what we decided to use on the wooden mustaches.  the color makes them funnier, but you can still see all the carving marks - which we love. soon to debut on etsy.com.  see more pictures of the mustaches in use here.

mustache envy

this is one of the wooden mustache shapes we are putting into "production" for art star & the renegade craft fair.  we are going to test some darker satins, i think ebony will be perfect. two more styles to develop and hopefully we can take 18-30 to each show.

our new favorite thing...mustaches. these were carved while passing time, but we can't stop here. we are going to add handles to these and are thinking of making some cast ceramic ones.
